Michael Combs will be in concert at the Smith County Agriculture Center on November 7, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. A benefit concert has been set for a local cancer survivor. Musical acts will include Mark Chesire, Kenny Lee, Rick Evans, Southern Drawl and special guests. Admission is $5.00 with children and under free. Concessions will be available. A silent auction will be held in conjunction with the benefit concert. Bring you lawn chair or blanket! All proceeds will be used to help pay Barclay's medical expenses.

The Smith County Fair will be held July 29, 2008 to August 2, 2008 at the Smith County Agriculture Complex in South Carthage.

Each year, across the nation, one event brings together entire communities to take part in the fight against cancer. That event is the American Cancer Society Relay For Life®. It’s a time and place where people come to celebrate those who have survived cancer, remember those we’ve lost, and fight back against a disease that touches too many lives.
